    Default zXe vs Silverstar Ultras

I just got the zxe's coming from SilvarStar Ultras i seen a slight difference in color, they are a little whiter. It could be just me but it seems the Ultras are brighter the zxe's. I mean looking at the specs, the only difference is color temp which zxe's are a 100 more then Ultras.

I enjoyed the Ultras very well an wanted to try the zxe's. I just want opinions before i feel i wasted money because i want bright lights, not garbage dim lights. Worse case is ill just toss the zxe an get brand new Ultras. Opinions please.

I've never used zxe's, but I switched to ultras about a week or two ago and I love them. I have heard from a few people that the zxe's arent as good as the ultras though.

It's known that any bulbs with a blue tint have less light output than a clear bulb. If you want bright lights then a retro with HIDs is what you want.

Ultras are brighter, ZXE's are whiter.

Look at Sylvania's website. They do not advertise the ZXE's as being bright.

Does no one here run Phillips HIR2's? Just gotta clip a piece or two off the base since it's technically a 9011 bulb, but then it fits fine. For still only being 55w, they're very bright and much whiter than any halogen bulb I've used.

Not sure how they compare to the zXe's or Ultra's though. My main reason in buying them is that they're only $20 per bulb on Amazon, and their rated lifespan is awesome, between a standard halogen and long life halogen's. As in waaay longer bulb life than either of those two.

There are no HIR bulbs for a 9007 capsule, at least none that I know of.

And what Guz said. Blue coating on bulbs is bad. Makes them darker.

Best example is looking at a street light at night through the factory tint on the windsheild. The light will be white but it's darker than looking through the clear part of the glass.
