Default What's the best way to test for coolant leaks

When my 06 gets good and warmed up then shut off there is a strong smell of burned coolant. I had to add coolant when I first bought it last spring but haven't had to since (guessing minor leak?), so what is the best way to find out where i'm getting the smell from

Pressure test the cooling system with a pressure tester. It can be picked up at a parts store.

Put adapter on radiator. Pump it up...like putting air in a bike tire. Wait for leaks.
