    Default Unknown component

Hi everyone I recently did a engine swap on my 04 gt with a newer 07 L26. Other than engine brackets and alternator plugs, I discovered an additional component that my 04 didn't possess. So What is it and what does it connect to?

Funny, I was just asking the same thing last night. I am doing this swap as well. It pulls air from the rear exhaust manifold and there is also another piece that sits down by the stock air box which that tube coming off of the side goes to. I was planning on swapping rear manifolds from my old to new engine because I don't have the wiring for this extra piece

Exactly..swap the rear manifold and smile. It's the emissions.

Thanks everybody. Wish I've thought about swapping the manifold before I dropped the engine in. Makes me wonder if that is the cause of my O2 sensor going bad

Why would a plugged tube cause your O2 to go bad?

It's not so bad in the engine bay.. get out there and...get it done.

Get it tuned out too, I heard it throws a code when you delete the system.

Bill, when I do my headers will that take care of physically removing the system? Damn thing gets in the way all the time, and I live in PA :/

nik...he doesn't need to get it tuned out. It's from the swapped motor, not original motor. And yes, when you do headers, you will remove the crap in the way and if you are energetic, you'll also remove the pump etc from the front left fender well. You will need to have that tuned out.

Not sure how I forgot it was a swapped motor between the top and bottom of the page, short term memory loss is a pain.

I'll probably go the extra mile and take everything out for the heck of it, thanks for the clarification Bill!
