Transmission bin file to another bin file?

Can anyone tell me why it is not possible to take a transmission file from one bin file and copy it over to another bin file? Someone had mentioned to me that you would need an editor program to do it but is it possible?

Your .bin file contains information for all aspects of your car..whether its fueling/timing/transmission.

They are not separate files.

Ok I will try to reword it. Is it possible to import the transmission parameters from a L36 bin file into a L67 bin? Can you do this without advanced editing of the bin.
