trans whine/squeal + shudder&slip

i put a new trans in over the weekend and have had issues with it ever since. The whine noise i hear coming from this tranny is horrible, sounds like a giant super charger or a horridly highpitch PS pump, or just a bad hydro pump in general, this trans is supposed to be a 80k trans that ran fine, so did i do something to mess this up or did the guy lie, or can i fix this easily?

first gear will shudder so bad that it will shake things off the dash, second gear isnt nearly as bad but can still cause a bit of shake, third is not too bad but kinda slips into 4th.

any advice is welcome.

I've had the same issue in a 2005 GT that I bought almost a year ago. It sounded just like a power steering pump, so I took it in under warranty to Carmax...which of course they tell me it's just that. Funny thing is I can't figure out how a power steering pump could make a car shudder while going straight.

Nevertheless the noise is still there and the thing runs intermittently rough. Some days it's got plenty of power, other days it whines louder than usual and feels like someone is choking the gas off. I don't trust Carmax to do anything right, so I'll have to pull the bucks together to get it fixed by a good transmission company.

I'll keep an eye out here for any expert advice.

I'd triple check the fluid level. Overfull will cause air and issues, under full will do the same.
