    Default tranny issues

hey guys my tranny is having some issues. I've searched the forums and found a few issues that sound similar but none are the exact same and i would like to hear what you guys think. First off, im running a 2002 gt with 76000 on it. I changed the fluid about a month ago to dex 6 and also the filter. Ok so this seems the opposite of a lot of issues. It doesnt happen when i'm first driving, and its pretty cold during the new england winters, but not until like 15 minutes into driving. It's at this point that when the car shifts it shifts sloppy. The best i can describe the shift is more of a bang into the next gear followed by a shudder of the tranny. This occurs while driving with low to medium throttle, if i give it a lot of gas it shifts fine.

Also, my neutral is weird. If i click the car into neutral it feels like pushing on the brakes slightly before actually engaging. There was one really bad situation though. I was backing up and going about 2 mph i went to put it in drive and when it hit neutral the tranny completely locked.

I dont know what the issue is but any input would be appreciated. I wanna solve this before bigger things happen. Besides the obvious issues, its simply annoying haha.

Oh and it started happening before the fluid and filter change but there wasn't any burnt fluid or anything. After the change, the shift got better for a few days but went back to normal. I checked the fluid a few days ago and it still looks new at the same level, but there was some black residue... burnt fluid possibly?

Experiencing a similar issue. I can best describe it as a hard shift between gears (guesing 2nd-3rd most of the time). Doesn't seem to happen in the higher gears. Have not detected any shudder yet but it does happen more often when the engine/car is warm rather than during the first 15-20 mn of driving.

Also, had my fluid and filter changed at the end of 2010. Wasn't experiencing these issues before this fluid and filter change.

    Would appreciate any comments...

i read somewhere that the pcm boosts pressure lines when it detects a long shift or something. So it might be the case that it doent only happen when warm, just after a few shifts. Either way i would still appreciate some advice haha

Get it to do the issue, hit the parts store and WITHOUT turning the car off, get it scanned. Hard shifts etc is probably setting a P1811. That would typically be caused by an EPC soleniod. they are pretty common in our cars.

If Dave feels 60% throttle is 100%, what does he tell his wife.

i second bills notion. i personally scanned mine with a snapon scanner and it had a p1811. seems to happen when its warmer out. when its cold like 35 and colder it doesnt do it. warmer than that and it acts up once in a great while. just pull fuse 15 and keep it rollin. when the trans finally goes then it will get fixed. 191K on a factory trans, im not gonna complain
