track times

Well im not too happy with my times. i did 3 runs back to back without shutting the car off, but the car ran consistant.

1st run
no burnout, using tapshift.

60 ft was a 2.4
1/4 was 14.58 at 97

2nd run
burnout, tapshift
60 ft was 2.4
1/4 was 14.50 at 97

3rd run
burnout, car in drive
60 ft was 2.2
1/4 was 14.50 at 95

i think the consistant times prove that the cai is keeping the air cold but i think it might be restricting it some how as well. i couldnt keep the front end from spinning and my burnouts with the t/c off still felt like it was kicking in somehow. the car was falling on its nose when i launched the car and got wheelspin.

your 60ft's sucked, Get a better launch and you would be in the 14.1 range

you can't use traction control. That pulls power.

I agree your 60' needs some work, i run sub 2.4s. keep it in drive the whole time. What i do is hold the brake down and rev my engine up to about 2-2.5k (not sure if this is too good for the tranny) but then when it goes green release the brake and slowly ease into it. your tires should chirp a little but not squeal/spin. also DA may have something to do with bad times.

This probably meant your car was hooking and you needed to give it more gas.

Here's a nice trick...get behind a fast fuggin' car...like something 9 seconds or faster...with a HUGE slick on it. DO NOT do a burnout on street tires...it hinders you...drive AROUND the waterbox...stall the car up a little...to about 2k ish...when the 3rd yellow light comes on hammer it and be sure your lined up where his slicks left marks. It's a nice little thing I call "Rooting"...and it works. I pulled sub 1.9x 60 foot times with crappy factory 225/60/16's.

If you're on streets, don't do burnouts. Street tires have an oil to them and it will make you spin more as they get hot and release the oil.

Tapshift is "rumored" to be a slower shifting mechanism than letting the car do it itself.

stock i ran 14.25 with a 2.13 60 ft. i got 14.2x three times out of four, track control kicked on once even when i shut it off so i know wut ur sayin, i noticed if you push it off as early as you can coming up to the line it helps. yours has gotta have a little more in it. these cars are good for 14.0-14.1 stock, a 2.0 - 60 ft is considered good

There's probably a good amount of torque management in those cars stock to make it feel bog down sometimes. May just take some practice or a decent tune to help you get it consistent. That and those trap speeeds need to get a little higher.

I know that holding the T/C button for about 15-20 seconds will turn trac and stabilitrac both off. You might could try that, it'll keep it from feeling like its bogging
