Default Top Swap is it cost effective?

Ok I bought my gp for the four doors and ac because I have a 7 month old. Now later down the road when I get into a better financial standing would it be better to top swap or sell to get a gtp? I have a gt with 176*** by the time he's around 2 is when I foresee this going on because hopefully I will have a real "mommy car" idk what but not my gp. I was just looking for input or ideas.

In the grand scheme of things, you're going to need a built trans. Figure $2k for that up front. Top swap stuff will run you about $1k and give you about 210ish WHP. Or, you could turbo for a few hundred more and get 300+WHP after your built trans. It's up to you and what you want to do. Take a peek at the link in my sig for helpful info.

To do a top swap, you're looking at head gaskets, head bolts, intake gaskets, rocker bolts, coolant, oil etc. Plus, flow mods and a tune and you can hit $1k easy.

do the top swap. top swaps on gt's are supposed to be like 5% faster or something like that because of the gt's higher gear ratio. then for a built tranny get a getrag 284 and build that so you can have fun with a 5 speed

As a guy with a Getrag 284 swap, I recommend it to no one unless you know 100% that the trans is good and you have access to many different things for fab purposes. If the trans blows, good luck finding another.

Yeah if I top swapped I plan on a whole rebuild and beef up on everything but hell maybe I'll just plain beef and make it a shower not a grower, lol
