Oh. The one that has little steps out at the end... got sliced and welded to make the steps. There was some hammer action with it in the vise there too. Forgot to say that.

I hung body panels on the SS396 today-

I hit pause on the Biscayne trunk floor to do it. Looks like this right now, fairly close to done.

Juicy underhood shot of the yellow 68 Camaro, it came in for something nitrous related-

I'm gonna fix quarters on the Biscayne next. Trunk floor and Chevelle are pretty much done, my part anyway.

Nope, sure haven't. I'll never forget the first time I saw one on the interstate though. Passed the GP like I was standing still. On power tour somewhere. We had a couple nice Challengers come through for this or that but no wing cars.

Yep thats every bit of 7 feet of praying to the warpage gods. FML for a week or two because the other side gets the same. Seriously I enjoy these things.

Well... At least it's straight across, and not all sorts of weird curves and corners to try and line up perfectly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the best way to attack that would be little sections, in different areas...

So not to build up heat in one area.

Yeah it could sure be worse. The other side probably is, a little. Hundreds of tack welds in a row, each allowed to cool before the next, is the only way to go on something like this. If I get greedy and weld more than a half inch at a time, I'll ruin it. If I grind the weld too long in one spot, I'll ruin it. No worries, lol. Either way its also seven feet of bondo to shape. I just hope nobody asks "So when do you think you'll finish?". As far as I know at this point, theres only a week left to finish but theres at least one rustout on a rocker also, and so far I've only done a quarter of the floor.

    No worries at all... lol

I can see some work was done on the A pillars and around the windshield, that looks like a twisty-turny curvy bit of fun. Lol

Ugh. I hate that question. Whether I'm pushing a mouse or swinging a hammer. You want it right, or you want it fast?

I forgot to mention... My old man has been keeping tabs on my S10 build and he seems to like your comments. Says you offer good insight. Figures you guys are kindred spirits. Maybe the same age bracket or close too. Said back in the day, he had a 70(?) Grand Prix, and of all his cars, that was his favorite.

Strange that you mention Dads, mine turns 80 today. He doesn't know where I learned bodywork and neither do I. But he was a little like you, in his time... always family first but never without a garage project. Those guys who grew up between WW2 and 'nam are a special generation, capable of anything it seems. We carry some of that with us, so its no wonder if he and I think alike. Funny thing though, of all the gigantic project threads I've done, I don't think Dad has ever read a word. Says my old GP gives him goose bumps though.

Welp, now it is Father's Day. I ain't one but mine is the best ever. Been a month since the last post and he told me that the quarter shown in those most recent pics is now a masterpiece. I dunno about all that but am about to weld up the other side next week. Stand by for picture dump...
