Default I introduce the "Man van"! *now with vids*

I know it's kind of long. But it is what it is. Have to tell the story of the birth. lol.

Well here is my latest daily driver since the GTP got totaled. The motor and trans still work awesome. The body was just tweaked on the GTP. And it's not worth taking a $3000 car to a frame shop. So I was at work browsing craigslist and came across a 98 Camaro v6 with a bad motor. Asked a tech if it would fit. He said it should. So I did a little looking around and found out it was a big pain in the ass and you will loose a/c. So I said f that. To much work. I wanted something simple to do. But while I was looking around. I noticed a guy in Canada did a Pontiac Montana with the n/a 3.8 and a turbo. So I saw how he did it. And it turns out the front sub frame swaps completely over. The whole thing is a bolt in deal! Engine and trans!! And I got to thinking about it. And it seemed like the perfect thing to do. Other then it being a minivan. It makes the most practically daily driver. I can haul anything, tow, take a bunch of friends with me. And the best thing is cops won't notice me because it's a minivan. In the Camaro they swarmed me at all times just waiting to pull me over. I even had one follow me to my house. Wasn't doing anything bad. Its just a loud car that looks fast. So I decided to do it. But the problem was I couldn't fine one like I wanted for cheap. I wasn't going to pay full price for one that was a running and drive. But I found this one about 4.5 hours away. A 1999 Pontiac Montana. So me and my friend took an all day trip to go get it. Had a bad trans. But it had pretty much all the options I wanted. Extended wheel base, Dual sliding doors and rear a/c. The rest I could add later. So me and a tech did the swap in 2 days. Pulled it out of the van and did the GTP the next day and put it in the van. It was going smooth. Couldn't believe how simple it was. But then the fun started. There was a few custom stuff I had to do. Some easy. But some not. Needed a custom a/c line made, throttle bracket, fuel lines and the wiring harness. The first 3 were simple. Got the a/c line mad for $75. A friend help with the bracket because it was a tight fit with the master cylinder reservoir. Still hits but poly mounts should fix that. And the fuel lines were simple hoses. But I'm going to redo it with ss lines and an fittings. Now the harness was a pain. I wanted everything to hook up like it came from the factory like this. So everything had to work. So I took both harness apart pin by pin. Then for a week I was looking at both factory service manuals and spliced the 2 together. Worked like a charm! So it ran and drove now. But I couldn't just stop with the motor swap. I had to mod it! lol. Some where on there already. But others I had to add just because It was easy to do it while it was out. Others I had to do do to the more power(like the fuel pump and brakes). Added a ZZP 3.5 mps supercharger pulley, Walbro 255lph fuel pump into a custom sending unit, a racetronix fuel pump rewire kit, ZZP throttle body heat shield, Solid rubber motor mount. Poly trans mount, ATI 245mm 3000 stall converter. 3" down pipe with a high flow cat, 4 inch intake tube with a gutted air box and a Spectra high flow air filter, GMPP front swaybar and 16 inch Grand Prix rims and tires to cover the 2002 Z28 front brakes. So this makes it even more fun to drive! So any way. I thought I would share. Here's a few pics. Adam:-)

    Old motor coming out.

    GTP motor coming out.

GTP motor getting ready to go in.

Getting put in it's new home.

    I's in!!!

That's awesome, I would have so driven down to help with a project like that. You should put a supercharged badge on it, or the GTP badge on it, and confuse the hell out of people.

Be ****ing hilarious to run someone in it.

In stock form a 2008 Pontiac Montana has just as much HP as your S/C 3800 series II engine, the LZ9 3900 is also 240 HP.
