Car is now running. Pretty awesome. See video below. I mixed up the fuel pump wiring and had positive going to negative... haha.

She sounds like shes running good. No immediate "check engine" codes, so that's good. Rack and pinion works. Also a plus. But she's pissing coolant from behind the power steering pump. It's not the water pump, or elbows, which leaves....? Yup.

coolant is likely the lower coolant elbow, or the heater hose or its fitting behind the alt.

dont worry bout what ever them little sounds are, all normal sounding. sounds pretty smooth really.

Yea I agree. It sounds really good and those sounds that might be bugging you are the injectors. They're always loud but normal.

    Good job!

Sounded pretty good, for sure. It's not the heater hose fitting. And the elbows are aluminum from the time I did my LIM's. Looks like the liqued has velocity to it when it coming out. It's more than just a leak it seems. Like it's being flung out. I was thinking timing cover gasket or front cover gasket... something like that. Are those the same thing?
I've seen that issue come up on here often. Someone describing a mystery coolant leak from right in that area.

Front cover is aka timing cover. Try to find the true source of the leak and maybe a video so we can help

Hmm. Ok. I'll have to get a better look. Maybe one of the elbows came loose when I was doing something... I don't know. It only leaked when the engine was running. I'll get a video of it.

I tried to identify it, kinda half-ass though... On Monday & Tuesday I was out there after work, wrenching pretty late into the night. Left to go home at like 1am, lol. I was mostly focused of buttoning up the rear suspension that I had dropped to get to the fuel pump wires. I did poke around a little bit with the engine off. I removed the coolant overflow tank and felt around the bottom elbow under the alternator. That elbow is pretty new and absolutely caked with RTV. I didn't feel any cracks or see any wetness. It wasn't loose or anything like that. The heater core hoses are brand spanking new with zero miles. The hose clamps at the alternator bracket are on tight as hell. Didn't see any evidence of leaks from that spot. So nothing flagrantly obvious.... Again though, engine was off. Next, I will look around for leaks with the engine running. Not gonna be out there till Sunday or Monday tho. Sucks. Itching to get back out there.

There's your problem. NO RTV on the elbows, just the o-rings

Never put rtv on the elbows. Just clean the hole and jam the elbow in with new o rings

At the car now. Turns out Scotty was right. And you were right. It's leaking from the heater hose bracket. See pic below. Photo got flipped around, but the bottom right corner is the neck of the bracket, where the hose connects.

that metal tube comes out, take out that small bolt and wiggle and pull. theres a O ring on it. it needs to be replaced.

Took out both fitings. O-rings are completely chewed up. And the little tubes up top are chewed up pretty bad as well. As if a previous mechanic yanked them out using pliers.

make sure you clean them two holes well, just like a coolant elbow.

Ran to AutoZone real quick. They don't have this size O-ring. They have some dinky ones. The groove where this ring sits is pretty thick. Any ideas where to get 'em?

i got a assorted box from HF, fond one that fit somewhat good, no leaks so far.

or a dealership should have em. or can get em.

Went to the dealer. $7 for the ring or $18 for the entire adapter and ring. Mine are pretty beat up so I ordered 2 new adapters.

Time to get the brakes on the car. I read somewhere that a master cylinder from an Impala has a bigger bore and helps reduce the squishy pedal. Is that an upgrade worth doing now since everything is dry?
