Doing the front bar is 100x easier if you drop the 2 rear craddle bolts down and lower the cradle...only in the rear. Do not allow it to hang or you might regret it put it on jackstands or if your lucky like me and have a lift use a screw jack. The bolts are I believe 19mm for the cradle and the bolts to the sway bar brackets are 15mm. Dropping the cradle a few Inches allows for the use of a ratchet vs a wrench and makes things much easier pulling out the bar and putting it in.

If your wise you'll anti-seize and wd-40 all bolts.

I drove my car for 6 months with the sway bar broke on both sides. So basically not even there. I got the doorman kit and quite frankly felt no difference.

Are you sure its bolted up properly?

If you take even mildly quick turns the body will have no control.

People with broken sway bars dont fair well in snow either.

Its gotta be it wont bolt on if its upside down. Because of the curve In the center

if you know the size (which you should since youre in here), you could order a set of bushings from Energy Suspension Parts Dealer, Specializing in Energy Suspension Bushings Suspension Components.

leave it TO GM to have an oddball size! I'll check with a caliper to see if the 1 5/16 may work. It sure looks like it's between sizes. Thanks for the source. Looks like they have a great inventory.

Swaybar is 33.3 mm where the bushing mounts. It is 34 mm on the ends. It is a hollow bar with solid ends just like the F-Body WS6/SS bars.

Energy bushings/greasable -9.5167-33 mm Advanced Auto online will price match. Cheapest is Energysuspension.com-15.99 for bushings and 8.99 for end link bushings and 15.99 for whole end link.
    End links-2. options:
    1. use just the bushing and use the GMPP end link hardware
    Part# 9.8105
    2. or use the entire Energy end link Part #-9.8122-this one I have not verified. After a search it was posted that this is what he used on his GMPP bar.

I just installed the Dorman sway bar to replace my GMPP front bar. I used the Moog TPR (blue color) end links and frame bushings. I used the 1.26" (32mm) frame bushings, as that was the size of the crappy rubber bushing that came with the dorman bar, even though it measures a tad over 33mm with a caliper. I tried using the Moog 1.34" (34mm) frame bushings but they were too loose, the 1.26" bushings are nice and tight, but still move freely. I lubed them with di-electric grease.

I would think the dorman bar is 100% solid.. That sucker is very heavy compared to the GMPP bar, and seems stiffer.

I like the TPR (thermoplastic rubber) material. Its a little softer than most poly bushings, but much firmer than rubber. It doesn't squeak, and is maintenance free.

Also, if you place your order from advanceauto.com, enter promo code "DEALIO" and save $10 off a $30 order, $20 off a $50 order, or $40 off a $100 order. I've been using this code for months, and you can still place online and pickup in store.

In most cases their prices with this discount beats rock auto even..

I just measured the stock bars on my 05 CompG

    Front - 20mm
    Rear - 18mm

The front seems way small, which is why I assume it is solid. I assume they are both solid, can anyone confirm that?

Anybody know the sizes for the 04+ base model?
Any new upgrades out there for the front that doesn't involve springing for new LCAs?

Masured right next to the mounting bushing with calipers, I was a little dumfounded when it came up as 20.25mm, I checked it in three different places, all similar measurements. I honestly can't believe it is that small, which is why I want to know what the base 04+ measures. Surely the compG is an upgrade, which makes me think the base would be even smaller, or hollow, or heaven forbid both. Maybe it is a different alloy or has a different heat treatment, I really have no idea how a 20mm bar could be part of a sport suspension package.

Also, I can't find moog links for the front without requiring 2003 or older LCAs.
