Step 1. You will need to remove the fuse panel and move out of the way. If you do not disconnect the battery, make sure you tape up the power connectors at located on the top of the fuse panel when you remove the cables. There are 3 blocks on the back side of the fuse panel. These can be removed by unscrewing the bolt in the middle of each block. Now that the area is clear in front of the pulley, we are ready to move on. Step 2. You need to remove either the plastic cap or bolt (depending on your year) from the end of the supercharger shaft, located in the center of the pulley. Step 3. Use a 15mm wrench on the tentioner to remove the Supercharger belt. Step 4. Install the pulley puller as shown in the picture. Make sure the small bolt that attaches the pulley shaft to the large removal tool bolt is tight before installing the bolt.Use 3 washers between the triangle plate and the nut on the large removal tool bolt. Use anti-seize compound between the washers to lubricate for easier movement. Step 5. Use a breaker bar to brace the large removal tool bolt, so it does not spin. While holding the brace bar (attached to the top side of the triangle) use a cresent wrench to turn the nut on the large removal tool bolt. moving the wrench toward the firewall removes the pulley. The pulley is pressed on, so it takes alot of pressure to get the pulley started moving. You will hear a pop, much like the pop from a safety cap on a food jar. Once you hear this, the pulley should start to move. DONT BE SUPPRISED IF YOU DESTROY YOUR OLD PULLEY. As I said it takes alot of pressure to get it started, and it can and will roll back side edge of the pulley by the opening on the back side of the pulley removal tool. How much it rolls it depends on whether you have the removal tool evenly distributed on the back of the pulley. It also depends on if you have a cold or hot supercharger. Remember metal expands when heated, so it will be a real P.I.T.A. if you are working on a hot motor. Step 6. With all but the small bolt in the end of the supercharger shaft removed, put on the hub, or pulley, and then put on the large bolt with the 3 washers between the nut and the hub or pulley. Start to press the pulley on until the shaft on the supercharger starts to spin. At this point, if you are installing a dub system, you will need to intall the pulley onto the hub. Then install the belt on the supercharger pulley so that the belt will keep tention on the pulley to keep the supercharger shaft from spinning when pressing the pulley the rest of the way on. DO NOT PUT THE BELT ON UNTIL THE PULLEY IS PARTIALLY INSTALLED ON SUPERCHARGER SHAFT. This will insure that the hub or pulley will not get bound when the added pressure from the tentioned belt. Step 7. Keep pressing the pulley until it is flush with the supercharger shaft. Step 8. Remove the large and small bolt from the supercharger shaft, and reinstall the plastic cap or bolt back into the supercharger shaft. Step 9. Reintall fuse panel. | ||||
