Suggestion

Can we do a ride of the month? and at the end of the year take a poll of all of the rides of the month and pick a ride of the year? Just a thought.

This could be cool.


I would even be willing to be in charge of handling all of the pics and info and getting it organized.

I'll help by laying down the rules:

Rule #1 The ride of the month must be a car, not a pic of another members' mom/wife.
Rule #2 Pictures of your car AND a girl(s) in scantily clad clothes is encouraged, not condoned...
Rule #3 If your going to submit a photo of a stock grand prix, save yourself the effort, unless your photography skills are above par.
Rule #4 Submit no more than #__ photos to johndoe@email.com and be sure to save them as a (.jpg?). You may make one submission per month, the submissions must be received by ??/??/09.
Rule #5 By submitting your photos, you are certifying that these photos are your property, not stolen from someone else and that when submitted they become usable by gpf.net. These photos may be posted up for public display on gpf.net at anytime and may be used for references in the future on this forum.

I personally like the idea. Im not too keen on a couple of the rules, but those can be adjusted.

I'll have to see about setting up an area for this. The problem we have with doing this, though, is that there are usually a good number of posts in support of something like this (calendars come to mind) and then when it comes time to put action to that support no one seems to be around.

That makes it hard to make the case for going through what is needed to set something like this up. We can do stuff like this but we need community involvement. We need the people that support such ideas to step up to the plate and follow through, whether that be with actually submitting pictures, drumming up support and activity or actually helping out.

I am up to help out let me know what i can do. I prolly definatly dont have the software or the Brains to do alot of this but i can try to help out.

I Would also be more than willing to help. I know that I could help with uploading pictures for those who don't know how ect ect. I don't know if that is what you ment or not Scotty.


What I think would be best is if we ''stickied'' a ''Car of the month thread'' And give all of the info needed in that thread. Like send pictures to this email address in this format and resolution and all of the rules and lock the thread. The only reason I say do it this way is so that the thread does not get cluttered up with a bunch of garbage. And that way one (or two) of the dedicated people could maybe handle all of the questions or concerns.


But Like you said, I do think it would be nice if the ENTIRE community could help with problems with uploading pics ect. But again as you stated this is sometimes a problem with people actually helping when the help is needed. So that's the only reason I recomended doing it like this. That way you have one (or more) dedicated people handling this.


What about making another forum section and making a sticky thread with the rules and submission info. Then if anyone has any concerns or problems they can post up in that section. And the one (or more) dedicated people can reply ALONG with the rest of the community ON THERE OWN TIME.
