    Default Stone Chips

Ok so my car is a 97 and as it should be a car that old has quite a few stone chips on the hood. I wanna fix them and do it as cheaply as possible while not making it look like butt. Now I very much DISlike the crappy touch up paint. I have tried it on other cars n it never matches right. Some one suggested I try "red" wax. I have yet to go out n buy some to try it. Will that do any good? Are there any other ideas?

I have a similar problem. My dad had the car for years before me and some of the stone chips have got a little rust. Any tips?

My 97 had lots of rock chips in the bumper. Picked up some touch up paint from Autozone and was very successful. Then again I have white so my color is a little easier to hide.

yea... The person before me tried the touch up paint in some spots and looks bad... I have bought some and use it in very hidden spots....IE the red lip on the inside of the wheel wells.

what i did on my old orange compG was i bought the touch up paint, and the spot around the chip is used some rubbing alcohol to clean it then when u use the touch up paint wear a rubber glove on ur other hand so u can wipe up and acess paint, thus leaving a small thin layer

Someone posted on here or GPONA I think... they tried out some product that you kind of just blanket over paint chips and it fills in with paint. Totally too lazy to find it for you, though.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Well if your car is black I would suggest I fine tip perm marker. Get your touch up paint from dealership, for starters. Go to Hobby Lobby or some place like that and get the finest tipped paint brush you can.
Clean the area that needs to be touched up, rubbing alcohol etc. Take the fine tipped paint brush and apply a thin layer of the paint into the chip wait for it to dry before adding the next application. This will take some time if you want it to look right. Also griotsgarage.com has a good kit for filling in chips.
