Default so i think im calling it quits

well its been fun but i think im finished with the 3800. i have the opportunity to buy my uncle's 1980 malibu, its got a warmed up 350, turbo 350 trans and 12 bolt with 456's in it. it goes 12's on motor and 10's on the bottle, aside from the malibu i also want to buy a GSXR so that leaves the GTP as the daily driver, so in order to be the daily driver shes going to have to be de-tuned, and become reliable. its been fun the past 4 years of owning this car and i know i can take it all apart and put it back together with my eyes closed, you guys have a great forum here and i ill frequent here as often as i can, as well as still give advise. thank you guys

I don't blame you. One of the owners of NAIOA has a 1982 Malibu and parts and stuff are ridiculously cheap compared to the W-body platform. Also it's easier to work on.

    Have fun.

yeah i spent 6 grand putting it back together between the brand new motor and trans. id rather take out the malibu and enjoy the big cam, RWD, etc etc. im still keeping the GTP its got no miles on it,the interior and body is mint, but realistically i would have way more fun with the bu. i had the car for 4 years and it was my street/strip car, now its moving up to peppy daily driver i figure i can get 300k miles out of her

I bought my GTP knowing full well that it was never going to see a mod. I had a hotrod that was a dd and it pissed me off to no end trying to keep it running.

Im holding onto the GTP for now so ill have a clean car to drive while i search for my dream car, a 78 camaro and a brown mullet wig.

Never knew all of your mods but mine is my DD...looking to find a beater to store it...and to find something to build that is a better platform...prolly like a late 60's Camaro/Chevelle if I can find one in decent shape...always wanted to do something like that so we will see...good luck man; Mali's sure are nice...and move too

Those early 80s Malibus make a damn good platform to make a 1/4 mile car out of. Too bad a clean one is so hard to find nowadays, there are a couple badass ones rolling around town. I'd like to see pics of it....

the way its set up its a 1/4 mile car, turbo 350 trans with reverse manual valvebody, 12 bolt with 456's the small block in it has a gigantic cam in it too. the body is very very straight, i have to put in the interior and change the windshield. im going to get pics of it as soon as i head to my uncles house to un bury it out of his garage. most likely im going to swap out the 456's for 373's or 390's and im going to have a 200-4r built up for me, i need the overdrive
