If they actually do have a patent on them and are doing this then just make them either a little taller or shorter and it wont be what they patented. If its your own idea to make them slightly different then what can they do about it?

someone just make a bunch and sendd them to people before gm finds out, and when they do you take the blame and we will all have rails . . . that sounds like a win to me
