Rim Width question.

This is a discussion on Rim Width question. within the Tires & Wheels forums, part of the W Body Tech category; For tire size 225/60/16 what is the best rim width? ex 6" 6.5" 7" 7.5" Thanks....

    You can even have 8" wide.

    6.5-7 is nice.

    Also happens to be what stock wheels are.

    I like 8" wide myself. Its the perfect width for a 225 without it bulging out the sides.

    8-8.5 is what I like depending on offset. I had +30 19x8.5s on a 225 tire and it looked great.

    Did you guys read that the OP is inquiring about 225/60R16 which has a natural "wheel size" of 6.5"?

    Whoops. Read replies lol. Yea with that side wall 6.5-7.5. 7.5 would look odd though.

    Non Turbo 3000GT and Stealth's come from the factory with 225/55/16 and an 8" wide wheel.

    If we had shorter sidewalls i would suggest wider wheels.
