Default REVIEW: free LED light strips from automatcentral.com

Here is the review for the LED strips that automatcentral offers.

to start off i would like to appologize for not taking any pre instalation pictures of the strips, although it isnt different from the pics that they show you i was planning od doing that but forgot to....

anyways these strips are $35.99, and are cuttable to the desired length that you need. before any trimming they are 19 inches long (50cm as their site says). i trimmed mine down to about 17 inches (rough guess, i mainly cut them to fit my headlights). these strips are of exelent quality and have adhesive on the backs of them for easy mounting onto the surface which you desire to mount them to. since my headlights are sunk in i decided to mout the lights to the tops of my headlight like this

they were very easy to install. one recommendation would be to use like scotch tape or some sort of tape to test fit the lights so that you have the desired location and then you can see if it looks good or not. this is something that had helped me a lot, especially in case of messing something up and then needing to peel up the strip and then re stick it possibly slightly ruining the adhesive on the strip.

on my lights i looked up a schematic on my parking lights, since they are dual filament bulbs, one for parking lights one for blinker, and looked up what wires i had to connect the strips to the parking lights, and then from there i hooked them up to sa switch so i can turn them on and of if i desire to. since they are hooked up to my parking lights i wanted them to come on with the parking lights and also go off with them.

here are a few pictures of the final product all said and done.
(sidenote: in the pics the light appear to be a little more blue than what they are. yes they do have a very slight blue tint to them but thats how white leds are)

another great idea for these are trunk lights

    and the ratings:

    price: exelent
    quality:exelent
ease of installation: very easy (as long as you know what your doing)
    customer service: exelent!
feel free to ask any questions im willing to answer them!

big shout out to automatcentral for the offer, thanks again guys! pleasure doing bussiness with you, i have had multiple people ask about them and where i got them from and i gave them your website.

    thanks for looking!

I'm glad i saw this post. I was planning to do the exact same thing, but if the led's brighten up the entire headlight area....then i think i'll hold off. Although you're right, the led strips would also be great for the trunk. Our original trunk light is bright but i'd rather eliminate the factory halogen and relocate it with some led's in a new spot.

    Great review iroc2!!!

Yes, these strips can be placed and used anywhere -- including for trunk lighting, ground lighting, etc.
Take a look at some of the review links on automatcentral.com to get a taste of what is possible. As always, PM me with any questions you may have.

    Thanks.

ya i know exactly what you mean. i was looking at it before i put them on and depending on how you do it, it can take 2 strips.

1 3/4 across the front endge and then use the remaining (and then wire up) 1/4 in the back of the trunk. because the trunk light uses a mercury tilt switch, something would need to be figured out for that part. other than that they should be perfect

    no worries thats ok

    UPDATE!!

the strips are still working excelently! i have not had a single led go out yet as it has been complained about with the use of other strips. everytime i drive my car, the strips are on with my fogs and parking lights and it has been a few months now and after being used everyday, a few times a day, for extended amounts of time, and after use like that i feel that the quality speaks for itself!
