Woo! Such a helpful post. Thank you for your donation!!!

BTW there is little info on the rear brake upgrade and what is available is hard to find by searching.

OP in regards most people who just have to have the bigger brakes on the back tend to look for the 04+ GXPs as they are bigger and better, otherwise there isn't going to be much of a difference. But realistically upgrading the fronts are all you really need as the back breaks only get a certain % of power to them anyways. Jump to F-body fronts or if you just want to go nuts the CTS-V upgrade provided by Drunkie and call it good. But again, if you have to match bigger front and back you want to look for a full swap from the GXPs

Look for a set of used GXP rears, they're the only ones that work to my knowledge due to the way the e-brake drum is setup on our cars.

I have seen Baer and Wilwood kits way back that had a full "big brake kit" but they were just stupid priced and thusly discontinued.

GXPs are the only cheap upgrade.

Now rear STS and CTS calipers look pretty close to GXP calipers, but more than likely will still need GXP brackets.
98 GTP-Mods? Yeah, lots of them

04 Rears are different than 97-03, and GXP's are different from both of those. The 97-03 have an internal brake shoe as a parking brake. 04+ have ebrake as part of the caliper and GXP follows the 97-03 shoe inside of the rotor.

    04-08

Knuckle, you can see no ebrake shoe
