    Default Ram Intake Review

    Wow!

    Great service!

fast shipping, ordered mine on friday and received and installed today(monday) on my 98 GT

    overall a great product

the only thing that was any bit difficult was cutting the hole and installing the MAF.

sounds sweet, gives it a deep throaty sound.

havent been able to c a change in MPG yet since i just put it on, gona give it a week or so and will reply on any change

One great thing is that it even fits the 98 with out moving the coolant bottle like you have to do with box intakes.

after one day of serious driving mpg went up .1. wooo
    hoping to c more soon.

one concern is with the connection between the T-Body and Tubing the seals goes inside the pipe and leaves no way to seal it 100%. worried about sucking in dust and excess air.

anyone know a solution with current parts or wear to get an adapter from tbody to 3.5in pipe?

You sound like you could use a reducing collar to connect the TB to the intake. Once you have this squared away, you should see noticeable mpg gain.

I installed mine, took some pics but they were blurry and it's been raining for 2 days. When it stops raining I will take some other pictures and post them.

So over the weekend I cleaned the car since it rained most of last week.

I have had the intake on almost two weeks now after it shipped I had it in a couple of days so that was pretty fast.

It wasn't too difficult to install the kit was pretty good, the kits hole saw was warped cause it wobbled. I used a step bit instead so the hole wouldn't be too big for the air temp sensor grommet.
The air temp sensor did not fit real tight in the grommet but a little bit of heat shrink tube around the sensor fixed that.

I found that the coupler to connect the intake tube to the TB should be 3" to 3" instead of the original that is reduced at one end.
I went to Home Depot and found a 3" to 3" coupler the fit right.
I tried to make the original coupler work, it fit on the TB but it would only fit inside of the intake tube and had to be taped or RTV used and it didn't fit tight.
The coupler I found has a large steel band with large hose clamps on each end. Once it was tightened down the is no movement in the intake even with the engine running it doesn't even vibrate it is very solid.
You can see in the pics below what I am talking about.

The installation took a couple hours with removing the air box, kids and a Home Depot run.

I have a little bit more MPG over the stock air box but I'm not sure exactly how much, the blower is a lot louder with the intake. The ex-wife says the car sounds angry now.
It's not a bad intake seems the filter is decent.
The intake tube could be a few inches longer to get closer to the opening behind the headlight and that might keep the intake air temps lower or a longer filter.
    I posted pics.

i like it, but too much bend in the piping for me. also, is that 3"? 4" would have been a better choice.
