I bought about $70 worth of electronics to figure this out so hopefully some of you would donate if you find this write-up useful. This install would cost less than $10 if you already have a solder gun/solder and a multi-meter. The sound is perfect and there is no static if done right. You definitely got deep into that project, thats awesome. I have a 2004 GTP I found a 6 disc stock head unit because there is an aftermarket unit you can buy which allows you add an aux input and utilize the steering controls. You wouldn't happen to know if your fix will work on newer units?
