quitting smoking

has anyone here ever quit before... ive made it through 24 hrs without a cig so far.... thats alot for me, i smoked over a pack a day... i tried the patch a few weeks ago and it didnt work... i woke up yesterdayy morning coughin and hackin, so i decided to slap 2 patches on seems to work so far.. no cravings at all.. i have caught myself goin in my pocket a few times lookin for my cigs... then i realize i quit..

Lol, going from large amounts of nicotine to none isn't a good idea, hence there being different "stages" with the patches.

well i got the stage one nic patches and did what the directions said for the amount of cigs i smoke which was one patch every 24 hrs... i was still cravin cigs... BAD... so gave up... i put on 2 patches this yesterday and it seems to be working.

I quit with the patches.... I reccomend getting the actual niqurette brand ones. The generic didn't seem to do the job. I started with the biggest patch and still smoked maybe 4 or so a day with it on. I slowely cut back on those 4 till I was down to just the patch. Whatever you do, just follow through the entire steps even if it seems like the small patches aren't doing ****. That's how i quit

I miss the crazy dreams at night if i left the patch on :P

I quit cold turkey a few years ago, then started back up about 6 months later. Before I went cold turkey, I tried the patch. What I didn't realize till after I had completely quit is that the patch takes about 12-24 hours to soak into your bloodstream. If you smoke a cig, then slap on your first patch, you will be begging for a cig in a few hours. As of now, I don't have the desire to quit.......i love to smoke. There's no way I could be in the midst of quitting and drink a couple beers and NOT run to the store for a pack of smokes. Anyways, good luck quitting! Hope you can beat it. I learned after quitting for 6 months that the urge never goes away when you get around a bunch of your buddies smokin, drinkin and playin cards. Kinda goes hand in hand in hand. lol Once you quit for good, its a fight to not start. My grandpa quit 30 years ago and he said every time he sees me fire up one and he smells it, he'd like to have one.

lol i hear ya dude... i love my marb menthols.... but i love my health more... i have been smoking at least a pack a day for the passed 15 yrs... my last doctors visit i was informed that i had asthma. im almost 30 and prob couldnt run a mile... with the money saved from not smoking im going to buy powerball tickets with hopes of becoming a multi millionaire
