you mean the button you can find at places like pepboys? it would be a cool mod, i like having my interior stock but for someone who races it would put a more racecar feel into the drivers hands

all youd have to do is cut the wire in the ignition collum and wire in the switch with a relay. you could also just tap into the wire, so you could start the car either way. youd still need the key in the ACC spot, but then hit the button and go.

this should help, this was drawn my a guy on my other forum

This is what i would do. They are found on newer nissans, bmws, lexus etc. They are cool IMO and eliminate some hassles with the ignition switch.

That StarDrive is pretty cool. I've used it on the Vettes when i worked at a Chevy Dealer. My question is what do you do with the key area on the column. If a person could remove it and put in some kinda block off plate that would be cool.

but with the startdrive, it says that it's not easy to use with a mechanical steering wheel lock and would have to be removed; so wouldnt that mean that it wouldn't work for GPs since our steering wheels lock?

what year of car are you wanting to do this on? if you have a transponder key(pk3 on the shaft) it complicates things a little. if you want send me the year of your car if its equipped with a transponder key and an e-mail address and i can draw you a schematic on how to make this work with a toggle switch and push button
