Default People Passing in Merge Lanes

Driving home from visiting the parents with my wife. Had a pretty good weekend. After a city stoplight I accelerate to about 75km/h, leaving the perfect amount of distance between myself and the car in front of me. Suddenly a red Civic formerly behind me is now visible in my side view mirror. He's using the merge lane to pass me and penetrate between myself and the car in front. guy? Immediately I enter le gusta mode, and by the time he's right beside me I downshift to 3rd and roll on the throttle. Turns out he's not letting off so I put the pedal to the ground quickly closing the gap between the car in front, despite not getting a downshift to 2nd. For that second in time I have the choice to alter the doods future; If I refuse to back down he's going over the merge boulevard and into the sticks. I can feel his stress. I'm a nice guy, and I touch the binders. The tuff guys driving their bright red Civic show me a few birds. Seconds later he hammers to the left lane and slows down. I cruise past with nothing but a creepy grin while hearing several "**** you's".

Seriously though, I don't get what's wrong with some people. And I hate to bash on the guy just because he was in a Civic..but you don't see many guys from GP forums pulling that sh*t.

What bugs me is the idiots merging onto a freeway that take forever to get up to speed. How can you "merge" when your not even up to speed with the traffic flow? With these idiots I usually pull quickly to the left lane and get by them.

You ride bumpers and move up every time the person in front of you lets off the brakes?

I love people who don't understand the concept of the on/off ramp to the interstate there is a reason they are 1/4 mile long numb nuts, do not slow down on the interstate and accelerate to speed before you get on.
I also think its funny when I pull up to a red light and the person in the other lane is 2 or more car lengths from the white stop line. I just shake my head.

Last Friday I was driving down the road when a firetruck with his lights on and sirens blaring comes down the road from the opposite direction, so like every normal person I was pulling over to the side of the road till he passed, as I was pulling over the dipstick behind me almost rear ends me cuts over to the other lane and just speeds off down the road like I'm a dumbass. Well I caught up to him at the next light it was some elderly man, late 70's early 80's from the looks of things, and honked my horn at him at least 5 times and signaled for him to roll down his window, took him about 10 seconds to even notice me, and I asked him if he knew he was supposed to pull over when emergency vehicles were going down the road, he looked at me like I was crazy and said "no I didn't" then took off like a bat out of hell when the light turned green. I am pretty sure they have changed a lot of the rules of the road since the 40's-50's and the DMV should really require some of those people to retake their drivers exam or at least take a course.

I have commuted on the 401 for many years, you for Yanks it is the main highway connecting pretty much Ottawa to Toronto down to Windsor for the purposes of this discussion. In the Toronto area, the traffic is wicked during most of the waking hours. Over the last 5 years I have noticed people passing in the merge lane is up like 10,000,000% to get 8 cars up on traffic. I have also noticed people are actually passing on the shoulder in some cases too. Commuting is becoming quite a danger around here IMO.

I find you guys don't use your blinkers as often. I also don't find you have as many speeders who are obliterating the speed limit. On the 401 I see someone weaving everyday going 100mph about 1/2 car length from someone's bumper.

The experience I posted was different, though. It was a tiny merge lane coming off a Home Depot yard, and he was behind me until the merge lane appears, at which time he went WOT VTEC around me in the merge lane to pass.

People this days just don't watch what they are doing most of the time on I-26 and 40 the speed limit is 60-70mph, and Ill run about 5 over with the flow of traffic . I try to leave about 2 car links in front of me. What gets me is people will jump in there to go around a car and almost hit some one i mean really is the place there heading to going to move if they don't get there. Also why do civic driver think there the ****???, most of the cars are over 12 years old and beat to death. Just saying

Someone yesterday tried to cut in front of me while I was coming in the merging lane into traffic. First time I've used my horn in a month and I held it down for a good 10 seconds on his ass... Felt good bruh
