PCM advice need please all you pros :)

I have recently purchased a 99 GP GTP with 205xxx miles. Im in process of doing repairs to bring back to good running order. The engine is not modified at all and I am interested in the benefits of a tuned PCM from overkill. First with no mods am I making a good decision to upgrade this at this time? Second, what if I add a cold air intake or similar non major upgrade will the PCM again need to be reprogrammed for a change like that? Im not looking to go crazy but would like to add a bit of more pep if I can and the PCM upgrade looked like a good choice. Thanks in advance for any input/advice.

YOu can make your own intake and you wont need to change a thing.

Upgrading the PCM now wont really do anything, the stock tune works great for now, but if you bought headers and wanted to do a pulley drop and had a way to scan the car, a pcm might be better then.
