Tonight at work I was informed that my car runs like crap. It was suggested that I get a new one before it breaks down on the highway. I told the kid it was supposed to sound like that because it was cammed, along with everything else that was done to it. Then I got to hear about his GTO that he used to have that was faster than my GTP. I told him I highly doubt it was faster. He was sure it was because his GTO ran 12s all day long. When i asked what track he took it to he replied " thats what the brochure says". On top of that it was an 04 GTO which is before they started using the LS2 and it was " chipped". Then this other guy comes up and vouches that they had it up to 180 on the interstate.

Anyways we have this whole respect for the individual thing at work and i couldnt just come out and tell him hes an idiot and didnt know what the hell he was talking about. I was really tempted to tell him to find a buddy that he thinks has a "fast" car and we would settle it this weekend and then next week we can discuss how bad i spanked his buddy.

13.3 might not be fast, but its a hell of a starting point. Especially considering I payed less than $15,000 for it with 49,000 miles. For the money those cars are a great deal. The aftermarket support for the engine is huge, the car... not so much. Everything has to come out of Australia.

Also my wife's boobs are bigger than your wife's (or girlfriends.... or boyfriends) and my 3.1L Prix will beat your car too.

No way. It isn't pushing if its the truth.

It just really pissed me off that when you aren't car savvy at all and you come up to me and say my car is a piece of junk because you are too ignorant to know what a cammed car sounds like. So when I explain what a cammed car is which was all factual, the person insisted on lying about a car he previously owned. The only thing he had to back up his stock ls1 goat being a 12 second car was that the fact that " the brochure said so".

That's just the car scene. Everyone knows someone who has a better/faster car that runs/looks cooler than yours. Its half the reason I dont do street racing/car nights anymore.
