I'll just keep changing mine every 3000 ish with the cheapest stuff I can get.
98 GTP 230K miles scrapped
04 Comp G 180*, HAI, poly db's, zzp stb's, UMI ta's, Speedbuilt sways, DNA springs
S1x, sd headers in the works
I run Mobil 1 which is supposed to last like 5-7k miles I think. I still change it every 3k miles.
if i let my oil change go to 7800 miles, im sure i could set the oil on fire lol

I like a clean engine.
Did anyone see pictures of noobs engine from his LIM job?
That was scary.
Also note that engine died shortly there afterwards.
If I follow my oil change indicator, I still get the magical 3000 mile oil change intervals.
Don't you love people who don't change their oil?
Here's the most recent shot of my lifter valley at 90 K miles.

My 205K lifter valley is super clean...just carmel colored.
Oil changes are key.
If Dave feels 60% throttle is 100%, what does he tell his wife.
judging by the way my rockers looked, my lim valleys gonna need a puddy knife and 4 cans of brake cleaner. and a box of rags to clean it up.
its been getting a oil change every 3,000 since i got it, but the last owners neglected it good.

Scott..that stuff comes out..the same way it went in. Slow but sure. I've bought cars that had a little gunk in them...40K later..they were super pretty.

My lifter valley looks like yours Matt, just slightly carmel colored like Bill said...almost 140K.

WOW, damn Bill, im not sure if i should say your LIM is super clean or if the other guys LIM is super GUNKED.....LOL
But yeah, oil & filter change routinely is the key.....and even a gunked motor like that could revive itself with some intense oil & filter changes(like every 1k miles) or otherwise regular oil changes(3k-5k miles) but most likely would take a lil longer to clear up....
Bill, look like you licked that Mooottthheerr Fuuccckkkeeerrr clean....LOL
Not your average grocery getter, but theres always at least two things on the list.... 10w-30 Castrol Titanium and Shell 91 premium mixed with a lil 100 octane racing gas......
