    Default locating wiring

    Sheesh!

You'd think that finding 24 gauge wiring to use in a car wouldnt be that hard... but nooo i've spent at least an hour (likely two plus) looking for decently priced smaller amounts of 24 gauge wiring for some of my projects. Finally found a kit sold for electronic hobbyists with like 10 colors, cost under $7, but almost $7 for usps shipping!

    sheesh!

Try finding 20/8 cable (8 strands, 20awg). Radio Shack used to have a decent selection of wire and cable but not any more. I went to Lowes and the only thing they have even close to that is Cat5e cable but its solid wire.

Im so far away it seems from where all the stuff I need.

you'd be surprised what items in our GP's are wired up with .35mm wire. (which actually, is like 26-27 ga)

anywhoo, i'm fabbing an extension harness for the HUD switch, and adding temp/compass/etc in overhead console.

Order a spool of Belden 9458 and take it apart. That'll give you 15 different colors of 20AWG... Plus, you can leave it bundled for firewall runs...

no marinas real close by in the chicago suburbs.

i almost bought some mil-spec'd aircraft wire, but the insulation was too thin.

the kit i bought should be enough to do what i need to.
