    Default leaking pan

I just recently changed my tranny fluid and filter. Like a good little boy, I poured in two quarts and waited to see if any leaks presented themselves. After a couple of days and no leaks I poured in the rest. Still, no leaks. After driving for a couple of days, it now seems to be leaking around the pan. I'd really like to not waste all that fluid I bought. Is there anything I can do? Can I maybe torque the nuts just a little tighter?

do you have the stock lifetime gasket on there or a replacement? The stock gasket has lines on it and metal embedded. It's the best gasket you can get. The bolts should be torqued to 10ft lbs or 120 inch lbs. Go much more than that and you'll hear an ugly sound of "SNAP". Then you'll have more fun getting the piece out.

I used the stock lifetime gasket. When I took the pan off, it had black RTV sealant around the whole pan edge.

If someone RTV'd it...it's garbage. Sorry.

Well, they didn't RTV the gasket or surfaces, just the seam.
