    Default L36 to L26 swap

What do I need to swap to the metal UIM? I need some sort of TB spacer or adapter right? Any idea on the cost? Anyone want to sell me one? I've seen people do it before.

swap over the L26 LIM with it to make your life easier.

    or you have two options:

    1) pull the stove pipe out of the L36 LIM and shove in the correct sized one. i believe they sell these with the UIMs now.
    2) bore out the L26 UIM so that the larger L36 LIM stove pipe fits in it.

everything else is plug in and go.

but im curious, why do you want to swap? there are no gains.

I want to swap because I'm leary about running a plastic intake. I don't have the means to drill out the LIM as per Bill's method sad to say, much less open up the lower portion of it to re-aquire the coolant flow.

So my throttle body will directly pop onto the L26 UIM? I'll probably just use the skinny stovepipe that comes with the newer kits and mount the L26 UIM on it.

Buy the drill, tap and plugs. Remove your UIM, do the work (minimal metal will go into the coolant system) and be done. It'll be cheaper than swapping over.

To swap: You need a Gen V/L26 to L36 adapter. a drill and tap to retain the pcv function (this time 1/8" npt and a fitting) and then to redo your intake. Although I did make a Gen V with adapter fit a stock airbox.

Here's pics of the fitting to be put into the TB

I drilled/tapped my intake on the car. You dont' technically have to open up the side cover turn around area. It's a nice to have mod.
