icm replacement

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how difficult it is to replace an icm on a 01 gtp. I have never pulled a pulley and I was told you have to in order to change this out?Any help would be appreciated

remove coils, pop off ICM, insert new ICM. reinstall coils?

So I don't have to take off that tensioner pulley that runs from the super charger?
If not that's easy to do. Just wasn't sure about taking a pulley off.

Use a 7mm socket to unhook the electrical connector from the ICM. With a 5.5mm socket, remove the six bolts holding down the three coils. Lift the coils off and lay them next to the ICM. Lift ICM off bracket, put new ICM on bracket, put coils on new ICM and bolt them down. Reconnect the ICM connector.

There is no need to remove any pullies to change an ICM.

Thanks. Does it matter if its adelco?
The mechanics also told adelco is the oe part and should go back on it. Advanced has adelco for 300 or bwd for 90. Seems like a big difference to me

Shouldn't be a problem. I'd put the bwd on my own vehicle, or get one from a junkyard for less than 90

Thanks for your help. Wow what a simple fix. One more question though does an icm need to be flashed to sync with the crank shaft sensor?

Nope its very simple plug and play fallow bills instructions you will be done and good to go in 10 mins
