HUD Upgrade?

I've searched this and other forums for the past week and haven't been able to find an answer to this question. I was wondering if anyone with a 97-03 GTP with a heads up display has ever swapped out their stock HUD unit for one out of a comp-g, vette, etc.

I know they can display different parameters (for example the newer corvette HUD will show G's and so forth), does that all just come from the PCM or do those cars have extra sensors that relay that info??

i think that it'd be a cool upgrade if it's even possible or plausible. if not i could always get a DPIC gauge but ever since getting my GTP i love the HUD feature and feel it should be on every performance oriented car. i know i should be thankful mine still works but if it's worth it to drop in an upgraded HUD with more options/parameters i'm all for it.

those cars would have extra sensors for those things. our PCM would not be able to read or write those parameters.

basically youre stuck with what ya got unless you get pretty creative with the electronics.
