Default How to: Replace your broken ol' sway bar or just upgrade it (97-03)

So you may notice that your car has excessive body roll or your sway bar has broken and it probably looks like this

You should have all this to completely put it together

Now the first thing to do is undo the links or if they are seized up, cut 'em off!! They are a 13mm socket

Then undo these (15mm) the drivers side has gas and brake lines in the way, so you may want to get a flex socket joint thing

Pull out the bar and we have this, because race car

Now put the new bar in, it takes some wiggling and patience and maybe turn the wheels so it falls into place

Put the links together in this order

Now re-bolt the bushings and bracket back into place (15mm again) and then tighten the links down so there is about 1.25-1.5" of threads showing (13mm)

    You're all done now, congratulations
Does removing the spare count as weight reduction?

Use moog bushings and end links for a more sporty feel.

Dorman ones are pretty soft, intended for the typical daily driver.

Used this last week. Very good! Along with wiggling and patience about a foot of rope through the end of the bar will get it over the last hang up when you can't get any leverage with your hands.
