How to install the front sway bar on a Grand Prix the easy way!

I've driven my grand prix without the front sway bar for over a year and decided to finally get a new one.

I knew this would be a biatch to do because it was biatch to get out. So after struggling for 10-15 minutes trying to put in in through the passenger side:

1. Take the sway bar under the vehicle with you.
2. While underneath the center of the car, put the driver side in first, push it through an extra foot or so obviously, then slide it through to the passenger side.
3. You may need to remove the passenger side tie rod end.

Took me about 1 minute to get it through this way.

Make sure you have a ratcheting wrench for those dang bolts that hold the bushings in place. They are a godsend.

If you want to save time, lower the rear of the subframe about 2 inches. As for sliding the bar in.. I've done a lot of them and never had issues getting the bar in place.. it's only the center bushing bolts that are tight to the body.

I was at youre house with him that one time and we watched fast and furious haha.

I just flipped my sway bar and replaced bushings yesterday. I lowered the cradle on the rear side, unbolted the sway links, unbolted the bushing mounts (be really careful not to break the bolts off) take off front passenger tire and slide it out that way. Took me all about 10 minutes to get it out. I did it at work do I had a lift which made it easier. And then when putting it back make sure to put the bolts in slowly and in"criss cross pattern". Don't tighten one then the other and so on. You'll bind them up and then you are screwed. Use anti-seize on the bolts. It helps a lot.

I guess my car is just a ***** then, cuz it took me probably 20 minutes to get it out, maybe more. Had the same struggles putting it in, till I figured this out, then it was cake.

Oh ok, small world!

Just installed new dorman bar, took me a hour to take out, but had to drop cradel 2 inches to install. The car does handle better....

Like stated, drop the rear subframe and you'll have room. I did mine before and I had to man handle the thing to get it in there but it shouldn't be a huge issue.
