NAGS (National Auto Glass Specifications) part numbers are used by virtually every autoglass replacement shop anywhere. The reason being is that these part numbers never change unlike manufacturer part numbers that do change or get superceded by other numbers.. blah. So, here are the NAGS part numbers for the Grand Prixs. If anyone wants numbers for anything else, please feel free to PM me. Grand Prix 97-03 (2-door) Grand Prix 97-03 (4 Door) Grand Prix 04-08 Important Note: Right/Left is determined as if you are sitting behind the wheel. Right=Passenger Side, Left=Driver's Side. The first letter in the part number, "D" in this case, stands for Domestic. This would be replaced with a "F" on foreign cars. The second letter designates which part it is, There are a few others that aren't relevant for this car though such as, The NAGS part numbers will also be followed with a series of usually three letters. I'll use the HUD windshield for the 97-03 Grand Prix as an example here. The full part number would actually be DW01289GBN. The G designates that it has an overall Green tint, The B indicates that has a Blue shade band a the top, and the N signifies that it has No attachements that come on it (other than the rearview mirror button which is not taken into consideration). On the quarter glasses that are listed above as encapsulated, this means the rubber pieces around the glass are attached to the glass and come together as one part. In this instance, the third letter in the suffix would be a "Y" for Yes, it has attachments. The three letters in the suffix can vary greatly depending on what kind of car the part is for. There are many colors of tint out there, B=blue, G=green, Y=bronze, Z=gray, etc. Green however is the most common. Some windshields come with or without shade bands which can also be in an array of colors. If a windshield does not have a shade band at the top, the second letter would be a "T" representing Tint only, no shade. "T" would also be the second letter of the suffix on most door glasses unless it is a Privacy tint in which it would change to a "P", mostly on trucks and SUV's with the factory privacy glass in the combination of rear windows. Lots of glasses can also be ordered with or without attachments, therefore changing the third letter to a "Y" or an "N". The correct Precision part number for the windshield molding on 97-03 Grand Prix's is WFS D1288 Windshield Filler Strip Domestic 1288 (Molding is the same for either the 1288 or 1289) |
