Default Gen V/Gen 3 Belt Wrap, Now Available!!

You get everything that you see in the pic above, a Billet Alum, custom machined bar, Longer bolts to work with most all full size IC, 76mm Pulley with bolt and washer, a half twist Billet Alum strap with one hole for the Alt. bolt and a bolt and lock washer for the Strap. All bolt are stainless steel, so need to worry about rust!

With this Belt Wrap, it is designed to allow room for your spark plug wires and your IC hoses as well. With this Kit on My car, I have noticed no slip, when I was getting slip in the top end. All Kits that I have sold so far, which is not many, All the guys are pleased with the results.

Price is going to be $170 Plus shipping.

If you do not need the pulley, then the Price will be $158, I will included the bolt and washer for you though. Let me know what you want.

    Paypal is scmdh@insightbb.com

Disclaimer: This kit does require you to measure and cut the strap to length and drill a hole for the strap to attach to the bar. Everyones setup is a little different, so I figured that it would be easiest for everyone to cut and drill their own. I will send you DETAILED instructions on how to do this, with pics for you.

Also, for all you Gen 3 Guys, this CAN work on your setup, but you need to grind/cut down the "rib" by the last bolt toward the snout, shown in this pic. The Bar sits right over that rib, the Gen Vs DO NOT have this rib. It will work and there are guys that have done this with no problem.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me, or post up. Thanks for looking

Looks good Shawn. One of the cleanest engine bays around for sure.

    Dude...remember Branson?

Loose them plastic pulleys on your belt, both for the supercharger and the serpentine. Replacement metal ones FTW!

Never had a problem with the plastic ones, run em for years although mine are newer for good maintence. Besides, i'm planning on runnning billet pullies in the future, although it ain't on the top of my list. No one sees my engine or could careless around here.

The metal are nice but there are many cars running the plastic pullies too.

Metal can fail just like the plastic, both will lock up eventully. Its the least of my worries honestly. I have yet to have a problem. My 93 GP had 160,000 miles original ones without an issue. I'm pretty sure my Trailblazer has them too.

As for belt slip... MAF numbers at WOT are a good source. Also, sometimes belt dust on the underside of your hood and coolant bottle will let ya know. I was getting a little bit myself. Most guys sub 3.0" start seeing these issues, especially guys with 2.6" and 2.7".

The bearings will seize you mean. Yet to see an NON OEM replacement do this , but have seen OEM replacments do this after about 2 years of being replced by the dealer.

Some are good for a long time, others will start to make noise, and thats your warning sign to replace them. When they seize...and your belt gets trashed...you will wind up with more problems than you want sometimes. Seen PS pump resv. sawed through, seen the SC belt take out the serpentine belt, and leave ya on the side of the road etc etc. Just not into plastic parts that make a difference on your cars drive ability and durability.

    Gates metal replacements FTW.

I don't have to worry about plastic ones on my car anymore. I have something waaaaaaay cooler than any part store can or would carry.

I actually had a metal one start to go out on mine a few weeks back...had a sqeak sqeak squeak......replaced the belt, sprayed it with brake cleaner etc until I started checking pullies...and sure enough. 3 years and 30k miles put the stress on it.

I've also had a plastic one fail....when they go, the belt will tend to kind of chew through that pulley, so it may not kill the belt immediately. Metal ones will eat one up pretty quickly.

Bearings can fail in anything. I'm not so biased toward metal or plastic anymore.

This wraps the belt around the SC pulley more so that you get rid of the belt slip. Most guys running a sub 3.0 pulley are seeing slip in the higher RPM, so this helps with it.

One guy put on on his car and ended up have to go to a large pulley due to maxing out his MAF and getting KR. All of which he did not have before. So it does work, plus it looks nice ; )

I thought I would bring this back from dead, since I still have about 15 or so kits still available. Send me a e-mail @ scmdh@insightbb.com or post up if you have any question.

I have been running mine on my car ever since I first posted this in 08', and has done a great job with my belt slip.

    Thanks for looking!
