I bought one the 255 pumps used off a friend who switched to racetronix and I have to prime my car every single time I start it? Now a week later after the install, the car is having significant trouble starting.

Some people have issues and some dont. The check valve in the pump can actually get stuck if the pump sucks up any debree from the tank - the manufacturer cut one open from a local customer and there was something like sand stuck in it. The rest seem to be install issues or even a faulty or stuck check valve.

If the pump is getting weaker then it may be burning up for whatever reason. The venturi portion of the canister can apparently "break" and cause the pumps to die prematurely. I had a guy locally go through three or four pumps until I modified the venturi setup in the bottom of his canister.

Lastly, the most common cause of failure of pumps seem to be install issues like leaking hoses.

You may want to consider a fuel pump rewire also. These pumps draw almost/roughly twice the amperage of stock.

Thanks for the info.. I am running a venturi style canister from a 97-00. I also already have a rewire. I think I'm just going to switch to a Racetronix, as everyone I have spoken to who has one has had no issues.
