    97 gtp- "Transmission input shaft is a little stronger". has this been verified? just wondering why it would be stronger in 97 than 98-00. i'm interested because i have a 97

    i have a 97 and am going to be getting a built trans soon do i need to have a 97 trans because of the vac line or can i put another year trans in and just have to modify a bit?

    I think your 97 GTP has the 4T65E-HD which is electronically controlled. I think the 03 transmission is a little different like remote shift option and so forth. I'll bet any 4T65E-HD from 97 to 02 would work.
