    Default Fast window help please

Ok 1997 grand prix gt coupe started with window going UP very slowly then I would have to hit the switch 2 and theree time to get it closed. The other night went down would not come up changeg regulator and motorTWICE track slides up and down fine attached window it moves a tad then stop disconnect window nothing this is with two differnet reulators and motors. I can't find anyone who has a switch for sale so I can swap and check it but I doubt that is it, because once it gives a problem it does not move at all up or down and I have to turn the car off for a few minutes then on to get it to work and even then it only moves a few inches. I am thinking Relay but the passanger window works just fine every time I need car by friday morning and I can take some plasic over the window but the neighbor hood I have to park it in friday I am worried about leaving it that way for long. Thanks in advance

pull the wires/plug off the motor on the regulator, then run power and a ground to the motor. if it works, the switch is bad.

check the for sale section here, theres always a few part outs, someone may have one, or search ebay and junk yards. search for master window switch and you r year and car.

Could have a short in the wiring somewhere. If you have a multimeter check to see if you're getting power.

Check the wire harness between your door and the body of you car for a broken or frayed wire. It could be what's causing your issue.

^This. I had the same problem with my minivan, but on the passenger side. Replaced the motor and it did the same thing. Stole and swapped the master window switch from my friends gtp. Fixed problem. Went and bought a new switch and all was right with the world. I even lubed up the window tracks and regulators with white lithium grease. Now they are both faster then ever before.

I found a master window switch from my 98 gtp coupe I can sell if you need one. Just PM me.

well I had brought it to a shop they said was the motors since I got them from a junk yard I figured out just put in a brand new motor same issue, goes down fine then goes up a little bit and acts like something is binding then stops but will go down ok, after a few times of trying up and down it goes dead and will do nothing, but if I shut the car off for 30 seconds or so it wil move a quarter of and inch every time I turn it on and off,,,Help
