I'm currently working on a friends 01 gtp. He's got a clunk noise coming from the driver side front wheel area. The ONLY time it clunks is when you hit some bumps, never turning or anything. The front struts are pretty new, and the strut mounts, (just looking at them) dont look bad at all. The control arms, sway bar, cv joint, all look good, so I just dont know what to look for. Please help guys!

sway bar itself, or sway bar end links.

the front sway bars like to snap in half.....old age, metal fatigue....

I would say sway bar as well. Or control arm bushings as they can pull away from the metal and cause a clunk.

Also, if new struts were installed, I would have recommended to change the strut mounts as well. The struts will far outlast the mounts and should be changed when installing new struts.

And if they were changed, look for loose bolts. Particularly under the hood where the strut bolts to the body, and the center strut nut is. Check those to make sure they are all tight. And double check the sub frame bolts, that they have not come loose.
