| SE Level Member | I've got a 2000 GTP with dual zone, when you turn on the A/C, the passenger side is ice cold and the drivers side is warm, not hot like the heat is on, but nowhere near as cold as the passenger's side. Anybody had this before? Looking for a common cause and repair. I would think it's either got to be the control unit itself or a air temperature blend door sticky. Any input woulfd be a great help. |

| SE Level Member | Hey, I had the same problem, mine was the drivers blend door motor. If you stick your head unerneath the steering wheel by the pedels you can see the actuator. Theres a little metal inticator that should move when you change the the temperature, if it doesnt move its the motor. Its a $235 part unless you know someone haha(mine was $105 |

If it does not get colder one way or the other start checking your freon.

| SE Level Member | Checked the system pressures on my guages and added half pound of freon to system. Passenger side vents at 40 degrees and driver's at 75 degrees. Pulled off actuator and worked door by hand, actuator OK and door moves freely full range. Determine foam seal on temp door deteriorated allowing hot air from heater core into driver's side vents. Proper repair would be to remove heater box, disassemble and reseal temperature door. Customer opted for cheaper fix pinch off heater hose to block flow to heater core until the end of summer. ![]() Last edited by CT Tech; 07-10-2008 at 02:06 PM. Reason: added info |
