Default Change Oil Soon Light

No other place to put this, so…

Anyone wanna post up how to turn this thing off? For some reason I can never get it to work.

Also, yes, I know it's other places. I just want it here. On this site. Maybe even in a new topic.

Wit the GT, Im not really sure. On the GTP with the D.I.C, you just hold down the reset button. Maybe someone can post up a how to (yes, I know it will be a simple proceedure, but there's nothing like a detailed document that you can follow in my opinion) and we can pin it or put it in the how to section.

It's something like up up down down left right left right b-a-select start, I can just never get it to work.

I thought it was A B A C A B B

Anyway....ahem.... *cracks knuckles*

and I quote....

Oil Life Monitor - Resetting
This vehicle has an engine oil life monitor. The engine oil life monitor will show when to change the engine oil and oil filter. This will usually occur between 5 000 km (3,000 miles) and 12 500 km (7,500 miles) since the last oil change. Under severe conditions, the indicator may come on before 5 000 km (3,000 miles).

Vehicle should not be driven more than 12 500 km (7,500 miles) or 12 months without an oil and oil filter change. The system won't detect dust in the oil. So if the vehicle is driven in a dusty area, be sure to change the oil and oil filter every 5 000 km (3,000 miles) or sooner if the CHANGE OIL SOON indicator comes on. Reset the oil life monitor when the oil has been changed.

Resetting Procedure
To reset the CHANGE OIL SOON indicator if equipped with the Driver Information Center (DIC).

Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds.
- If the CHANGE OIL SOON indicator flashes two times, the system is resetting. Turn the ignition key to OFF, then start the vehicle.

- If the CHANGE OIL SOON indicator comes on and stays on, repeat the procedure.

To reset the OIL LIFE indicator if equipped with a Trip Computer.

Press the trip MODE button until the light appears next to OIL LIFE.
Press and hold the trip RESET button until the oil life percentage changes to 99%.

I dunno, maybe its just me, but wouldnt a reset button just been better all the way around instead of push the accelerator three time, turn key twice, roll down passenger window 2/3 way on the second sunday of the fifth month during a waning crescent?

What do I know though.

Hmm sure glad I bought a GTP, that sounds like a lot of hassle for nothing special

No no no, its neither and why so many people have problems with getting this done correctly. You have to do the Chicken dance while opening the jar of pickles.
