Default Bosch Spark Plugs?

I know a few of the other members are checking out the Brisk plugs and I got to thinking about some of the Bosch plugs. I'm wondering if anyone here has tried any of the Bosch Platinum +2/+4 or Fusion plugs. Part 4305 for the +2's, 4405 for the +4's, and 4505 for the Fusions. These are about the heat range of the AL 103 plugs. Any experience/suggestions?

Every time a Bosch plug has made it into a 3800/3400 in an Impala, we've heard reports of bad idle, hesitation, and bad mileage. They're no good.

That's a depressing first response. Were they the open ended plugs like these are?

I've only heard the negative from the GPs Impalas and the motorcycle forums (IIRC) I belong to as well. That said, I've never tried them. So if they aren't too expensive, perhaps you can give them a try. 103 temp range is too cold IMO.

I completely missed the platinum part. Apparently that metal doesn't mix well with boosted applications, due to it's inablilty to dissipate heat. I've never run platinum anything so I can't tell you first hand if this is true.

The idea, while similar to the Brisk, still has the center electrode (spark) somewhat protected and the center electrode is platinum and not silver.

Editing again. Just looked those plugs up and each you have listed says "Excluding Turbo and Supercharged models. I guess they are for n/a only.

on a na engine I have never had a problem (I run bosch in the buick and bravada, and have for many years with no problems) in the gp I have been running autolites, and have a few customers with mercedes slk's that can't run any platinum plug (mercedes has a tsb about it evidently) they usually run the ngk iridium plugs (btw all bmw's I work on have bosche from the factory)

That's a nice thing to know that they say specifically that they're not for boosted applications. Oh well, it was a thought. I guess back to watching the Brisk discussion.

It was worth a shot, I enjoyed looking them over. One just never knows what may turn out to be a diamond in the rough, or on the flip side, a Tornado in your intake.
