Default Headlight questions

First off, this is a 2006 question which means 9006s and 9005s in seperate housings.

I do a lot of night driving, and have been looking to find a brighter farther reaching combo. Ive found some 9006s (high beams in this application) that are 100watt lamps. The stock 9006s are 65watt lamps. obviously dropping the 100watt lamp in place of the 65watt lamp would be brighter... but what am I likley to break doing this route. obviously the wiring is at risk if it won't carry the amps, and possible even the lamp housing if it puts out too much heat. Wiring could be solved with some new wiring, a relay, and a switch, but that may be more trouble than its worth... and it would cause the car to use a little of its user friendlyness unless I wired some fog lamps (stock id does not have any) into the existing high beam switch...
thoughts or opinions?

er... besides spending a couple hundred to go HID.

Default Re: Headlight questions

Best drop-in option is halogen infrared refraction (HIR) bulbs. 9011 and 9012 can be easily modified to fit in 9005 and 9006 capsules.

Here's some information about how they work:
HIR Headlights 9011 9012 bulbs

Here's where I bought mine from (high beams only for the 97-03 projectors):
HIR Bulbs - (HIR1) and (HIR2)
