Default 97 gtp fuel gauge problem???

hey guys i had to tear the top end of the motor down a few weeks ago and it sat for a week waiting on parts. I went to throw everything back together and it runs fine.. But.. And thats a big but... I couldnt remember exactly all the vacum line routes.. so i put it back together the best i could off the diagrams i could find on the net. It runs fine but again i remember that i had between 1/2 and a 1/4 tank of gas i ran to town about 10 miles away and it started to chug and buck and i could hear walboro fuel pump whining really high then it just died. I pushed it to the nearest parking lot had a friend bring some gas and sure enough it fired back up. this morning i started the car and just going up the road it started it again and the gauge is reading in the same spot as it did when it died before. So im wondering if i have a vacum line on the fuel regulator backwards or something? I wouldnt think that just from it sitting a few weeks the float would stick or something? If anyone could post pics up of their vacum lines that may help me out. my biggest question is the one big line that runs from under the car and i can tell its a fuel line that plugs into a box behind the motor off the fire wall.. Thanks for any and all your help!!!
