anything bigger than the stockers is harder on your trans, but rims 8"-8.5" in width with a 42mm offset are the best bet So;

245/45 R18
245/40 R20
245/35? R22
Probably best tire sizes

20s on the 04+ body style look supreme. just remember to lower the car so it actually tucks and looks nice. 4x4 grand prix's are the worst.

make sure you lower it correctly. you may need spacers for the motor/trans because of the offset geometry when you lower the car creating acceleration vibrations.

2" is a lot for these cars. intrax springs will do that for the most part, but the ride will be pretty harsh. coilovers are hella expensive.

Be sure to look into these when you do this: http://www.grandprixforums.net/f51/m...back-1107.html (Motor Mount Spacers are back!)

so what happens if i dont get the spacers? ive never heard of that and ive lowered alot of cars. never had any probs. the only springs i can find 1.75" drop so i might end up with that but i really dont think thats gonna be enough. are the spacers a must have?

without the spacers or shorter dogbones the car will more than likely have acceleration vibration. they arent very nice at all.

shorter dogbones are the easy way out. the plates that vinnie sells are the best way to go about it.

Anything heavier than stocker is harder on your trans. I like 8.5" with +35mm offset myself. 245/40-20 is too tall of a tire. It is an inch larger diameter than stock. 245/35-20 would be closest at that width for 20s and to maintain near stock diameter for 22s you'd need a 245/25-22 (Do they even make that size?). Way too little sidewall in either case for me.

Out of your two choices, I'd definately say 20s. I'd go 19s, but have seen some really nice 04+ GPs with 20s and a few 97-03s that looked nice as well. I can't speak from personal experience as all of mine have had 17s/18s.

Never hurts to be on the safe side with the lowering as well. I'd hit him up for some spacers.

Good luck with whatever you choose!! Tastefully done, it will look beautiful!!
