I am new here, so thank you in advance for any help. I just purchased a 1999
Grand Prix GT. The care has 147,000 miles on it and when I turn left or right at slow speed or when sitting still the front end makes a squeaking or creaking sound. What is the culprit and what can I do? Thank you again.

sounds like a outer tie rod has dried up common problem

i have the same problem on my 2000 gt.. check the level on your power steering fluid. if its low, you have a leak and may need to replace the power steering pump. mine still squeaks but my power steering is fine so i really don't know. maybe someone else will have another idea...
