I have R1 semi mettalics along with the E-Line R1 rotors, and the backs aren't bad at all, but the fronts squeak and grind and leave dust. How are the posi-quiet Ceramic pads? I know I have no problems with my calipers, and I tried anti squeak stuff, so I don't know what to do.

Go with the Ceramic Posi's. I think I sent you a link on one of your other posts. They are worth it and will not cost you an arm and a leg in the process.

i have ceramics, like em, they are quiet and almost dust free. rarely get brake dust on my rims.

I ordered from R1 and they tried to give me the half ceramic half metallic. They said they were out of the ceramic. I asked when they would get the cermaics in, and i ordered them when they did

Napa stores have a pad they sell now called an Adaptive-1 pad. The inner and outer pads are different compounds and work very well. I have used several sets and have been pleased with them so far. I always like ceramics for the low dust and noise qualities but they dont seem to have the bite that other pads have and I see way too many warped rotors on cars / w-body cars because a lot of heat is created in effort to stop at high speeds.

Yours don't squeak or dust then? Do you have drilled and slotted rotors? I just don't need to deal with the squeaking and dust its driving me crazy.

I like Wagner Thermoquiet pads. They are not ceramic, but are quiet and dust free, and hold up very well. Just my two cents.

The Wagner pads are also good pads and i have used a few of those over the past few years with good results. The key to ANY pad to being quite is proper assembly regardless of the material. Make sure the pins are clean with good lube on them, make sure the shims are clean and put a small amount of the lube on them where the pad rides, some pads come with lube and others dont and in this case you can use Sil-glide lube that Napa sells and works very well. Any moving surface on the pad needs lube, a squeal is a high frequency vibration and keeping things smooth, lubed, and clean really helps prevent noise. Most pads have anti-squeal shims already on them to help out. Some pads are pretty picky on rotor surface as to break in also but most pads have a fairly rough starting surface to speed this up. The adaptive-1 pads I have used have not given me any noise or dust problems and brake feel is a little better than ceramics IMO. Ceramics do a great job of stying quite and keeping down dust but the are very hard pads and they just dont have the bite that other pads have, though I still like using them for the benifits.
