I don't see the o-ring or even the groove for the o-ring on the dipstick. The other thing is are you sure it will fit inot to place properly with thet big nut on the end? The last two oil dipsticks I installed were a pretty tight fit.

I applaud you seeing a need and wanting to take care of it. The dipstick looks pretty nice for a prototype.

I modify how the dipstick actually reads...and match it up with the stock one....so yes...btw the ones mentioned above are a lot easier to read.
As long as the replacement here is the same over all length as the stock one, and from base to end of the tube it is housed in, then it should read exactly the same as stock. Same goes for the transmission.

Doing the same for my car currently, but only replacing the head/handle of the factory dip stick its self with a piece of billet aluminum. Remove roll pin from old handle, install new handle with a set screw done. Everything else stays the same for my design and set up. Including the o-ring on the handle head stays there.

Yours is pretty trick though, I like the new tube replacement. Braided stainless steel muuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm.

You guys with the Lokar trans dipsticks, did you just buy a generic one and it fit? Reads correctly? How did you secure it?

My factory one is resting against my TOGs.

When I had my togs I just bought a prebent dip stick for the togs from ZZP. It worked great.

Why did you switch to the lokar? What model are you using and how did you mount it?

I switched because I am turbo'd now and the downpipe hit both my stock and tog dipstick.

I used the Part Number # 625-TD-34L60EFM through Jegs. As for the mounting I just did what worked for my setup.
